Speciality Compounding

Compounding is the specialty of formulating medications to best suit patient needs. Examples of compounding include Bio-identical hormone replacement therapy delivery methods, Veterinary formulated products, and various different capsule sizes. Many patients can benefit from having their medications specially compounded such as those with allergies or sensitivities to common excipients, and patients needing medications that have been discontinued or are unavailable due to shortages.

For Patients

Pharmacy compounding is the art and science of preparing personalized medications for patients. Compounded medications are “made from scratch” – individual ingredients are mixed together in the exact strength and dosage form required by the patient. This method allows the compounding pharmacist to work with the patient and the prescriber to customize a medication to meet the patient’s specific needs.

Sometimes conventional items aren't so convenient. We consistently see patients that have difficulty taking their medication. When a capsule is too hard to swallow we can make a suspension, or if nausea is keeping it from staying down we can make a suppository, you name it we can, in most cases make it. If you are having a hard time with your prescription delivery method, ask us and we can consult with you and your physician to make your meds easier to take.

For Physicians

The ability to formulate prescriptions allows for a more open selection of therapy for your patients. For instance Pyridium is no longer available on the market, but we have the resources, facilities and expertise to formulate and fabricate a capsule made from a pharmaceutical grade chemical that has gone through Health Canada and FDA approved analysis. If your patient needs it we can, in most cases, make it.

For Veterinarians

Our compounding services offer you the ability to order virtually any drug to your exact specifications for any type of animal and have it delivered right to your office. From household pets to livestock to exotics there is a delivery method that will assure the animal is dosed in a easy, stress free manner. Some popular dosage forms include micro capsules, chews, and transdermal gels that can be applied to ear tips. We are able to compound almost anything in almost any form you can imagine, including sterile products!
